Intro

I like writing.

This has been true ever since I was old enough to hold a pencil, spell a few words, and then string those words together. As someone who has never claimed to be the greatest orator of our time, I have known for most of my life that writing was my preferred mode of communication.

I wrote stories as a child, non-stop. I kept diaries that had soft, neon covers and locks with very generic keyholes. I wrote letters, poetry and songs. And then the Internet happened and I wrote blogs.

University ruined all of this for me. At some point during my post-secondary education, my love for the written word was all but conditioned out of me. I very robotically learned to write in a bland, hyper-objective manner that would fit the mould in the pretentious world of academia.

Life got busy after that. I moved across the province, the country, and the world. These days, I work a lot. My job requires me to hold myself to a high standard in society and to be cautious about the things I'm putting out there (so cussing has to be kept to a minimum, unfortunately). The pressure of WHO might read what I write makes me nervous to start a blog, and this is another big reason why I have put it off for so long. But right now, in this moment, I feel like.... f&*# it: let's do this. I have things to say and words floating around in my head just waiting to be stamped down somewhere.

So, if you like reading as much as I like writing and if you too happen to have thoughts about things..... stay tuned.
